Dereck Chisora Vs. Joseph Parker – A Heavyweight Delight

After his devastating knockout of Artur Szpilka the other week, Dereck Chisora, seems to have really gained some momentum once again.

Dereck Chisora knocked out Artur Szpilka in the 2nd round of their fight

Alongside his new alias “War” and his partnerships with both Dave Caldwell and David Haye, the former British and European champion seems to have found a new lease of life and has gained a lot more fans and supporters over recent years.

Chisora’s fighting style is exactly what fans want to see and his war with Carlos Takam back in 2018 will always be a fan favourite moment from the 35 year olds career and despite his KO loss to Dillian Whyte at the end of last year – many thoughts he was winning that fight and all were impressed with his performance.

Among those impressed with his recent performances, is former world champion, Joseph Parker.

Parker, the former WBO world champion, has allegedly spoken with David Haye (who now manages Dereck Chisora) about a potential showdown between the two and the New Zealand man believes that their styles will “gel” to make an exciting fight.

Having worked and fought in the UK with promoters like Eddie Hearn before, this fight is – in theory – a relatively easy fight to make and in terms of career progression, the fighter that wins will stand in good stead for the future, as both men are ranked highly within the heavyweight rankings.

Joseph Parker is ranked #10 on BoxRec in the Heavyweight division

According to BoxRec: Joseph Parker is the 10th best Heavyweight in the world and Dereck Chisora is the 12th…

Stylistically, the fight will definitely be worth the watch, Parker’s youth and explosive speed will cause problems for the older Chisora. Whilst the strength and tremendous power of Chisora will mean that Parker won’t be in for an easy night!

For me, this fight would be a very exciting one and I rate both fighters very highly.

Whether this fight gets made or not, remains to be seen, but I could see it happening and furthermore, I would love to see it happen! It’ll be a good challenge for both men and should result in another explosive heavyweight contest.

The heavyweight division is wide open again and it’s certainly becoming a lot more exciting too!
