'Live everyday as if it were your last because someday you're going to be right.' - Muhammad Ali

On this day in 1942, former Olympic gold medallist, three-time heavyweight world champion, International Boxing Hall of Fame inductee and easily one of the most recognisable, iconic and adored individuals of all time was born. That man was none other than Muhammad ‘The Greatest’ Ali.

Ali was bigger than boxing. No-one before or since has managed to inspire and captivate the masses in all four corners of the globe in the way Ali did, and it could only be possible with his one-of-a-kind composition of unfathomable talent, lighting-fast wit, courage and enchanting charisma.

The words ‘legend’ and ‘greatness’ are thrown around far too readily in sports and entertainment, but in the case of Muhammad Ali, these words are not only befitting, the scarcely do him justice.

The impact he had on the world, not just in his chosen sport, is like nothing ever seen before and is unlikely to be replicated in the future. He is the very definition of an icon. Ali was a fighter, a great one too. He fought in the ring, he fought for his people, he fought for those in need and he didn't stop fighting until his last breath.

Nicky Booth, former British and Commonwealth Bantamweight Champion, passed away yesterday aged 40.

The younger brother of Jason Booth, Nicky won the Lonsdale belt outright and fought notable names such as Steve Molitor, Ian Napa, and Ady Lewis.

‘Smokin’ Joe Frazier would have been 77 today.

32(27)-4-1, he was World Heavyweight Champion from 1970 to 1973, beating Muhammad Ali in the first fight of their trilogy in 1971. His losses were twice to Ali and twice to George Foreman.

He beat fighters such as Jimmy Ellis, Jerry Quarry, Bob Foster, and Oscar Bonavena.

He passed away on November 7th, 2011.
